Visions of the Future of Work - An AI Film Competition

In a world of boundless technological opportunities with the advent and the democratization of AI, the future of work can be envisioned not only as technologically sophisticated but also more just, equitable, and inclusive.

But how will this visionary future shape the way we live and work and what does this future really look like?

The TASC Platform is thrilled to embark on an innovative journey of creativity with the Visions of the Future of Work - A Short Video Competition. Alongside its upcoming Future of Work Summit from 6-8 June 2023, the TASC Platform is committed to leading the way in imagining and shaping what that future of work will be through the power of storytelling, videos, films, and AI.

Unveiling the Competition

Visions of the Future of Work - A Short Video Competition is a global video storytelling challenge that invites participants to share their visions of a brighter and more inclusive future for everyone. The competition provides a platform for filmmakers, students, AI enthusiasts, and visionaries from all walks of life to explore their visions, express their ideas, and share their unique perspectives on the future of work to converge and inspire fresh thinking about the better futures we can collectively create.

Harnessing the Impact of Short Films & Videos

From virality to social media trends, short format videos are undoubtedly catalysts for change and influence on a global scale. When crafted with empathy and focused on subject matter that resonates with diverse audiences, these bite-sized creations can captivate hearts and minds and engineer lasting changes.

Afterall, we all remember how a single viral video captured by marine biologist Christine Figgener in August 2015, forever changed the way we view and use plastic straws, sparking a global movement and worldwide bans. Individual behaviors were impacted, policies were enacted, and major global corporations took drastic measures against the use of plastic straws

In the Visions of the Future of Work - A Short Video Competition, we celebrate the power of short format videos as agents of transformation. Participants are invited to embrace this concise storytelling format, creating films that range from 15 seconds to 2 minutes in length, in order to share their visions into impactful narratives that leave an indelible mark on viewers, igniting conversations and sparking reflections that inspire change.

Testing & Embracing the Role of AI

While the competition focuses on the future of work, it also tests the role of AI as a tool to empower individuals and enhance creativity. Participants are encouraged to incorporate at least one AI tool or technique in their films, showcasing how AI can be harnessed to shape a better future. We invite participants to join us on a journey of discovery and experimentation, where they can explore the dynamic relationship between AI and creativity.

This competition offers a unique opportunity to experiment with the capabilities of AI, understand its inner workings, and develop new skills in utilizing AI technologies. By actively engaging with AI tools and techniques, participants can push the boundaries of storytelling, unlocking innovative ways to communicate their ideas and visions.

Screening at the AI for Good Summit

The highlight of the competition is the opportunity for the best films to be showcased at the AI for Good Summit,  where global leaders, innovators, and policymakers gather to discuss the impact of AI on society. The selected films will be screened during the workshop Imagining the future of work in an AI-driven world. Not only will the reach and influence of the films be amplified, but the videos will also spark meaningful discussions and inspire action on a global scale.

Participants also have the chance to win exciting prizes. The top three entries will be awarded prize money, acknowledging their creativity, storytelling prowess, and ability to envision a future of work that is inclusive, equitable, and sustainable.
